We were eating at a buffet restaurant yesterday and our waitress was one of the worst I've ever seen. She was sitting at a table with a guy, texting and chatting, and she seemed annoyed when she had to fill drinks, then she kept asking other waitresses to help her when new people came into her section. So I didn't think very highly of her, anyway! When we're about to leave, she says, "Twins? How's that?" I didn't know what to say, so I told her it's not bad at all. Then she says "It's my generation's turn to have twins and I'm terrified it's going to happen to me!" Dumbfounded, I told her again it's a blessing and not that bad. I wanted this conversation to be over so badly... But then she says "My friend has this baby that wants to be held all the time, and I told her that she has to put the baby down, and now he's spoiled!! Aren't you supposed to not hold them all the time?"
At this point I'm smiling, nodding and slowly trying to get away from this woman. She seems so knowledgeable about twins, babies, and parenting in general, right?? So. Many. Things. Wrong.
