Ergo and Weather

Hi, I live in Tampa, FL. where it is warm/hot for 9 months of the year and then gets cool to cold for 3 months. Do you think the ERGO is too hot for this climate? I'm planning on using it mostly indoors thoug. We keep our house at 73 degrees.

Re: Ergo and Weather

  • If you're using it indoors, you'll be fine.  The Sport version has lighter, more breathable material.  I think Performance as well? (I have the Sport).  I live in New England and I find the Sport hot when it's >80F.

  • I think if you're in a situation where you need to carry the baby outside, it will be hot regardless of whether you have the ergo or not.  But I'd look into the performance one (I haven't tried it but it's supposed to be lighter weight)

  • I live in Tampa as well, and have worked as a nanny for some time. I think the Ergo (or any carrier) will be ok if you are just wandering the mall. But if you are planning a Busch Gardens trip or something similar (unless it's February) you're better off with a stroller. I wish we had "seasons" like everyone else!
