September 2012 Moms

So last night, after a few drinks...

And I had gone to bed, H was apparently feeling creative. This morning, I woke up to a living and dining room that essentially had been turned into a giant baby jail, with furniture pushed up against walls, and every toy she owns enclosed in the middle. I told him yesterday that I wanted to take the furniture out of the spare bedroom and turn it into a toy room so that all of her toys were NOT consuming our living space, apparently he misunderstood. I literally almost cried it was such a mess, and then his feelings were hurt because I didn't like it. Happy freaking Monday ya'll.

  • Oh man, that's rough. He obviously made a big effort so you want to thank him but its totally not what you wanted so you want to yell at him. Totally been there.

  • Sounds like our living room, which sucks but is the only play area available in our house. Hopefully it won't take long to put back together!

  • I was ready for this to be a "I'm KU" announcement.  In due time though.  In due time.

As far as the toy situation, we have them all over our family room but I try to limit the amount of toys that are accessible to DD.  She doesn't play with half of them so I leave some of them stored in her bedroom and then do toy rotations.  I know some people are super organized and have the toy shelf that has a bunch of cubes in it.  I think that would just aggravate my OCD and I would feel the need to put back the toys every night just so.  So I just have a basket from Target and I throw all the toys in there.  However a lot of nights I just leave the toys out on the floor.

@jenmbott I have terrible OCD when it comes to my house being neat and tidy, and put together.  I pick up the toys and take down the baby jail every single night, which is why it confuses me that H thought that rearranging our entire living room was a great idea.  Oh well, it was a pretty quick fix, thankfully.

  • Oh no! I hope he will help you fix it without getting annoyed. So frustrating when people think they're helping and really they're not listening.

  • After I'd have gotten through crying, I'd probably have laughed at that. Sorry that he did that, though!

  • I think it's awesome how he was thinking about the Hannah.  I understand how it could make you batty, but I think it's totally cute.

My DH would have gone to the garage.
