  • There has got to be a reason my contractions come on stronger and more regularly at night. I just want to sleep or know that this is it and get moving!

  • Been having contractions and was half awake when I realized my boobs are totally leaking and my shirt was wet. Never happened before...wondering if this means a quick labor and that I'm getting ready soon.
  • I am up..in labor and delivery..started pitocin at 7..having contractions but nothing terrible! Getting nervous!!

To the best of my knowledge your milk comming in isnt a sign of labor but i could be wrong.

    Heres hoping i am.

She's too little for a suppository but I would put some lube on a rectal thermometer and insert it then hope it jostles the poop around. Usually that works.

I was thinking the same thing with the rectal. Also, gripe water helped with gas for dd and DS, as well as bicycling their legs to help get the gas out.
  • For me, pumping and I'm a little disappointed that I cannot get him to latch consistently. So, still supplementing and pumping every three hours in between.

Try enticing him with a little from the bottle at first, then switch over to the breast. I was able to get my LO to latch to the right side that way and he had a hard time before. It was one of the techniques from Kelly mom

  • Feeding number two. Very sleepy.
Thanks. That's what we have been doing and sometimes it has been working and other times it doesn't. Also, he will pull off and still make the signs he is still hungry and will try and get him to latch again and ends up screaming and I give up and pump again or give him the formula. Additionally, I'm not sure how much he is getting, because it seems like he has eaten a ton, but in general these exchanges last an hour and maybe because of how much time passed he is more hungry.
  • Just woke up with my heart pounding to a dream where some ghost was over my bed whispering "get up". WTF is that about! *shudder*
Now I can't sleep, no signs of labor so I'm sitting in the living room bumping. i have to be at work in the morning; that should be fun on no sleep. :(
  • Went to bed early tonight because of OB appt at 11am. Thought I could trick my body into more sleep. No such luck. I got up an hour and a half later and I'm awake!!!! LO is moving around and felt some cramps, but nothing to really give me any promise of labor. I'm only 3 days late, but so incredibly impatient.
  • Up for feeding #2... Yay for 3 hour stretch!

I'm curious as to how others do MOTN feedings. I stay in bed all night. LO sleeps in co-sleeper.

Nurse on one side when he starts fussing, change diaper, and switch sides. I change him on a waterproof pad in my bed. What works for you?
  • Up for feeding #2 but not complaining she gave me 3.5 hours!! @cocolamo1 I have her in cradle next to my side. Hear her start fussing and I change her (on the bed )and then feed her.

DH gave DD a big pumped bottle at 11...I was hoping she'd make it 4 hours, but no such luck... she's almost 6 weeks, so guessing its time for another growth spurt!!

I couldn't be more wrong about her schedule tonight... Feeding#2 came 1.5 hours later!

I'm so bummed baby didn't decide to come this weekend. I'm not sure which I want more at this point...baby out and in my arms or just to not have to go to work anymore! I should be sleeping but eh.
I am right there with you....I am regretting staying at work till she is born. DH reminded me today I could take my leave, but then I would have less baby time... :(....So I continue to tough it out...I think I will have a bowl of ice cream...or some cake...or maybe BOTH!!!!! Gonna watch the season finale of True Blood!!
I'm with you both too...I can't sleep, woke up drenched in sweat even with the air on so now had to get the fan blowing on me, I'm getting hungry and the last thing I want to do is work in a few hours. I keep reminding myself as well that working now means more time with the baby after but if she doesn't come this week I don't think I can make a full work week. :( Thanks all for letting me whine. Good luck to all you other late nighters...hope you're able to get a little rest!

I'm due Tuesday. Ill suck it up and work through this week, but come the 23rd I'm done - I don't care what baby is doing at that point, I can't take it anymore.
So my current mantra is "just 5 more days".

We have them in RNPs in their room, which is about 10 feet from our room. When one fusses, if it hasn't been about 3 hours, H will try and soothe him with a paci or rocking. If LO goes back to sleep easily, sweet. If not, then I feed them. Or if one wakes up at the 3 hour mark or later, I feed them.

We do one up, both up so someone always gets woken up. H will change them both and bring them to me in our bed. I tandem nurse, so football hold sitting up w a nursing pillow. Sometimes one gets bitchy and throws a fit and won't latch so he gets a swaddle and then more boob.

When they're done, I wake H back up and he takes or back to their room and I take the other.

The entire production takes close to an hour. Rinse repeat.

Just five more days! I'll keep running that through my head too! However, here's hoping you do not go late and can get that baby delivered soon! My due date is Thursday so ill ask my doctor to sign me out starting next Monday If she hasn't arrived yet.
  • I'm up enjoying some 4 am Ice cream....and Cleo has joined me downstairs...
  • I'm tired. I thought LO would be good and tired after being awake but he has been up 4 times in the last 3.5 hours. Guess I will be catching up tomorrow.

  • Second feeding of the night. Had a rough day with DS. He's been pushing the limits with us ever since LO was born. Hoping it gets better. I'm beat.

I nurse on the couch, so if LO wakes up, I change him first and nurse him second. If that doesn't get him back to sleep, then there is bouncing/holding him until he calms down.

  • So mush for not doing more laundry with LO. Yesterday alone I went through three shirts. 1 from spit up all over it, 2 from unidentified wet substances (both after a large poop). *sigh*. On to feeding number 2 in an hour.

Cluster feeding sucks, but yay for growth spurts!

@Cocolamo1 I have a cosleeper between us in the bed as well. I just sit up and nurse him on the boppy.

  • Feeding #2 in 45 minutes. Ugh. And that was after 2 attempts to put him back to sleep with the paci. Cant believe I kept falling asleep so fast! I can't sleep when I need but by god when I'm supposed to be awake...

  • And it's daylight. Another day of feeding babies and clinging to sanity awaits.

    Have a good one ladies!

Does she have hard poop? Is she BF? Sorry baby fell asleep after my post last night, and so did I! Thank God. She is 1 week old and is FF. Woke up this am to a blowout. Yay! Just curious, because BF babies can go DAYS between poops. Like... 9 and still be perfectly normal. And then you have a blowout. And lots of gas in the meantime. Mylicon helped my son a lot. It takes large gas bubbles and makes them smaller.
