Crawling at bedtime

Benjamin's been crawling for quite a few weeks now. Maybe a month. Anyway, at naps and bedtime and MOTN wakeups he is trying to sit up, crawl, pull up, etc. I push him back down over and over until he finally gives in. Anyone else? This has been going on for weeks now and is driving me nuts.

Re: Crawling at bedtime

  • Absolutely! This is my battle with V every night! One night I went in and he was SLEEPING but sitting up and whining in his sleep! Pulling up just started 2 nights ago....now it's even more difficult to get him back to sleep!

  • L has been doing all of this for the last 2.5 months.  Obviously I haven't figured it out :/.

She's gotten better, especially since I realized that sometimes she was still asleep (crawling, crying, and asleep), and if I gave her a little bit she'd sometimes crawl-cry for a short distance, and then flop back down still asleep.

  • This has been us for sssoooo long now! Wearing me out!

Last night he did it in his sleep a little (crawling) but like pp said, he plopped down after a little ways. Just too tired to do it. Lol. Thankfully! Also, instead of 4-5 he woke at 6:30! Yay! Thank GOD!

    I'm praying for 7:30 tomorrow ... Or 8!

  • Yep, been there. It lasted a few days each time she started doing that. Maybe a week the first time.

And the last two nights it seems that O has regressed in her sleeping. I don't know what it is. It's not because she wants to crawl/stand/pull up or anything physically milestone related. She is waking up crying every few hours. She hasn't done this in MONTHS. Well, except for when she was sick the other week but she went back to normal from that

Last night she woke up at 5 to eat, despite me trying to get her back to sleep without feeding her (trying to drop the night feed). When I put her she started screaming. I tried to shush her to no avail. Picked her up and rocked her again and got her back to sleep. Put her down and she screamed again. Let her cry for a couple of minutes and she wasn't having it. She was standing up so I knew she wasn't going to go back to sleep on her own. Picked her up and brought her to bed where she decided to comfort nurse from 5:30 to 7.

My point it. Babies and sleep I will never understand. And I feel your pain. I'm TIRED. Lol.
