Suggestions getting rid of this stuff?

My husbands grandma gets a little carried away when buying clothes for my kids. Im very appreciative but i have a ton of boys Burberry stuff and other ridic expensive stuff from nordstroms that is too small for my boys. I took it to a consignment store but they offered me $15 for like 10 shirts that are in great condition. I'm not trying to get rich setting the stuff but we're talking hundreds of dollars for this stuff new. What's a good way to sell it? eBay? Craigslist? Mom sale?

  • Our city has a buy/sell/trade site on Facebook.

I think $15 for 10 Burberry & Nordstrom shirts is crazy!  I know our town has a FB group for kids things that are for sale in our area.  Maybe see if yours has one or try eBay.  People on Craigslist are often looking for a bargain & probably won't be looking for kids Burberry stuff.

This is what I would do.
  • Stuff like that would probably do well on eBay.  Doesn't hurt to try b/s/t pages or Craigslist.
  • We have a higher end consignment shop that only takes name brand stuff so i would go there.

But you have to remember most people who are buying things second hand don't really care about the label, at least i would think.

Iv seen clothes on craigs list. Most people i think sell them by the "lot", so i would do that. Like $60 for x amount of burberry shirts, whatever.

Good luck! Id post on Craig's List and ebay and just see what sells 1st if you can.
  • Another vote for Facebook buy/sell/trade groups. I've bought and sold a ton on these groups.

Eh I disagree. Most people I know who buy secondhand clothes like having nice clothes but just don't want to pay more if they don't have to.

OP, here's another vote for a local buy/sell/trade FB- ours is very active.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. If worst comes to worst I'd rather donate them than consign them for a stupid $15.
