Horrible cold

H was being super fussy Friday night and yesterday has a full blown cold now. This one is absolutely terrible, he can't breathe at all so it makes eating rough. He's taking 30 minute naps, waking every 3 hours at night, throwing up tons of mucous (which is incredibly hard to watch), and fussing all day long. I don't know what else to do and deep down I know there's nothing to do.

No fever, we suck out his nose constantly, small frequent bottles, humidifier, vaporizer, steam showers. This just plain ole sucks!

Bad colds are the worst because there isn't really much to do besides make LO comfortable and wait them out. It sucks watching LO be so uncomfortable. I hope he feels better soon so you can all get some sleep!

Oh mnj, I'm sorry H is feeling so bad. Summer colds are horrible! I hope he's feeling better soon and that you both get some good rest!

Aww, poor H. I hate that helpless feeling when the littles are sick. I hope he's better soon. Do you have a humidifier?

We do have a humidifier. We didn't run it last night but we've been running it today. His poor little nose looks so dry on the outside from wiping it so much.

It sounds like you're doing everything you can. It's so hard to see them sick. I hope your LO feels better soon!

LOs being sick is the worst. Its like the only time there is nothing you can do to make them better just comfortable. I hate when M is sick. I feel helpless and all turned upside down. I hope H feels better soon.

I'm adding pedialyte to the mix since he's starting to throw up his formula too. He might have just won himself a trip to the pedi tomorrow.

My pedi recommended Vaseline on the nose to help with the issues from wiping it. Poor H, I hope he quits throwing up soon.

I think the pedi might be in order.... Vomiting and the other symptoms you mentioned can mean ear infection even without a fever. Hope DS feels better soon!

@CallMeAl that's exactly what I told DH. If he ends up staying home with H tomorrow, I'm making a pedi appointment so he can be checked out just in case it is more than a cold going on.

Poor baby, it is so hard to watch them when they are sick and we can't do anything to help. It is such a helpless feeling. Hope all is better soon and it sounds like you are doing all you can.

Sorry. Hope he feels better soon. Nothing worse then a snotty nose sick kiddo. We swear by nose drops as well. We do it every time he gets really stopped up to help clear out the mucus since they can't hack or blow their noses.
