Lately I've seen the name Maeve....if it's pronounced how I think it is, I think I like it! PS- I am not pregnant, I am just a loser and keep a word document on my desktop to document names I hear that I like for baby number two:)
Is it pronounced like May-vee, or, like the color Mauve? Mave? (rhymes with shave)....pardon, I don't know how to do phonetic spellings the correct way, lol.
(XP from 12-24 mo board...I forgot there was a baby name board so I posted it there first)
Re: The name Maeve
Love it. Sounds like Mave. Here's more info for you
Maeve \ma(e)-ve\ as a girl's name is pronounced MAY-v, MAY-vee. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Maeve is "intoxicating". The original form is Meadhbh, name of the powerful and legendary warrior queen of pre-Christian Ireland (first century). She is described in the "Tain", the Celtic equivalent of the "Iliad", as "tall, fair...carrying an iron sword".
