Snacking

Just wondering if and when you offer snacks.  It's kind of something I forget about!  M doesn't seems to do five with her three "meals" but she starts DC Monday and I'm thinking, well is it weird I don't really do snacks?! My nieces are school age and are always snacking which seems bad too. Like they open the fridge and stuff. Blows my grandmother's mind! Lol.

Re: Snacking

  • Three meals is plenty. Don't want LO to be too full for milk, ya know? When they are off milk is when they may need snacks.

  • I only started giving him snacks recently. It's the sweat potato puffs (yeah, yeah but he only gets a couple cause he losses interest of they end up on the ground and they really help with the pinscher grip) and it's just random. I think after one year, we'll switch to snacks but I'm thinking like fruits and veggies.

I offer LO snacks like toasted bread sticks or multi grain cheerios. Mainly to help with grip reflexes. The dog has a hay day when they fall on the floor. I usually offer them a couple times a week usually after a 4oz yogurt container (he's been known to finish a 6oz container of yogurt but I had free yobaby coupons so I bought that). Like right now, I just got finished feeding him a yogurt and I gave him water mixed with pear juice and threw a few cheerios on his tray. The dog is sitting patiently on the island where he is pulled up to for his snacks, what she doesn't know is they are all on the floor. These durn multi grain cheerios have a slight sweetness to them so they stick to LO hands. If I out them in LO mouth he mushes them and swallows.

ETA: When we go out of town or just as a back up in the diaper bag, I have the organic yogurt drops. He effing loves those damn things.
