TTC after 35

Well, poo

We've been cruising along, hoping to have a successful natural pregnancy while we wait for the new year when I can get on my husband's company's insurance.  It is much better than my company's - our RE's office said it was some of the best they've seen in our area.  Until today that is, when they announced that they will no longer cover ART in any form in the new fiscal year.  We're now forced to make some hard decisions about our options.   I'm feeling discouraged and scared and uncertain and just need to pout a bit.    Just admitting that I am pouting makes me feel a bit better, so thanks for obliging me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

Thanks ladies.   It generated some good discussion between us, so it turned out to be a good thing.  We're going to bite the bullet and move on to the DE process.   If were going to pay OOP, we only have one shot and want the best chances for success.   So, I'm calling the RE's office tomorrow!  Even though we'll now be paying OOP, I'm excited to get the process started versus waiting until 2014.

  • Glad you were able to make a plan. This is what we did. Only one shot so we are giving DE a try. Good luck to you and come over and visit the TPR board. Lots of good info on that board!

  • That is so unfair! I can't see your siggie on the iPhone app, but if you haven't had a laparoscopy, that is covered under most health insurance. I'm oop for all fertility treatments too. Clomid is another cheap option, but maybe you've already tried that. Congrats on making a plan. I don't know what we'll do if Clomid doesn't work. I don't think we can afford any of the other options.
