My two year old is in his crib. Screaming. Loudly.

I'm at a loss here. I am usually able to lie him down (still awake), kiss those cheeks, and walk away. He falls asleep playing.

Last night he was up at 11:30, 12:30, and 3:30. And for about three days, he will just lie in his crib and scream my name. If I go in there, it gets worse. Full-scale meltdown mode.
Anddddd it's horrible. And sad.

Advice? Rock him? Break out the old pacifiers? Buy ear plugs? Helpppp me! I'm desperate.

I vote rock him.  If this isn't normal and doesn't happen on a regular basis, maybe something is throwing him off, like teething.  Is he getting his 2 year molars?  Could have an ear infection?  If you suspect either of those, give a dose of motrin and see if he calms down. 

Hungry? Thirsty?  Hitting the 2 year old tantrum stage?  GL!

Is he getting molars? Sleep goes to crap around here when molars start coming in. I'd check for swollen/tender gums and try whatever teething remedies you usually use.

I'm a first time mom; I didn't really know much about "two year molars." Reading up now! So grateful for you guys. 1.5 hours later, he is finally asleep. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Agree with PPs. My son did this a few nights ago. Threw a massive tantrum at 4 am. I had to set him down on the floor so he could get it all out. It looked like an exorcism. His issue was his cold/ear infection. Another possibility for your LO: night terrors?

You guys are a Godsend. Motrin worked like a charm! Slept through the night last night and only fussed for 5 minutes before nap today. I owe you drinks. Or a hug. Or something.
