help

Okay ladies. We moved yesterday into our new home. I made sure to keep all of Emery's things together so I could immediately put her room together for her. Everything is the same but the wall color. She didn't sleep in her crib last night, she slept in her swing. Hasn't done that for a month. Tonight, won't sleep anywhere but on my chest or in my arms. Hasn't done that for 2 months. Is it just a new house or something else? I totally believe in spirits so I'm kinda freaking out but hopefully that's just crazy talk... Oh and she slept from 330-645 which is also weird for her

Re: help

  • Babies can pick up on new surroundings and even your anxiety. So that is probably what she is going through now. I think my son did the same for a few days when I first came to visit my family in another state. He stares into the kitchen when it is pitch black and smiles.. I think it is the clock on the wall but my family thinks he sees things. I dunno as long as it is making him happy.

  • I'd say its the new environment. DD is a good sleeper but every time we are at MILs house she won't nap longer than 15 mins. There was one time I picked her up and they told me she had not slept all day. Yikes! And then as soon as I get her home she is out like a light.

Could just be an unfamiliar environment for her and may take some one getting used to. Now if she stares into corners or laugh at the wall- I would beeline it outta there!!! Lol

This combined with any stress or anxiety you may be feeling. My husband was gone the last two weeks and DD slept like crap. He comes home - back to normal. Now this weekend we are staying at BILs and she's sleeping like crap again. I know I'm stressed this weekend with my MIL and FIL around.

  • I agree with PP, my LO has had a hard time sleeping when we get home from trips (we have taken 2 so far both about a wee long). Hang in there, she is probably trying to get used to the new surroundings, just like you are. If you do suspect that there are spirits and/or weird things happen in the house, maybe talk to a priest and see if they can bless your house.
