5 week old not sleeping

Does anyone have a baby that refuses to sleep during the day? What do you do?  I can not imagine that this is good for them and wonder if something is wrong or does this sometimes happen.  My baby has only been sleeping about one hour and not even in one shot during the day.  At night, he usually goes to sleep at 8:30 and sleeps until 5 am with two wake ups in between. I am just concerned about the lack of day time naps at this age.  Thoughts?

Sorry I don't have advice, but have the same problem some days, so I'm curious what others have to say .

DS hit 5 weeks on Tuesday and has not slept at all during the day... until today!  Today he has slept pretty much all day, except waking to feed every 2-3 hours.  So glad I am not alone and it sounds like there is an explanation.  I never heard of the Wonder Weeks when DD was born.  I will look this up so I can get a better heads up of behavior to look out for.

I agree.  I felt very alone as well.  I see newborns sleep the entire day and I can't get my LO to sleep more than an hour the entire day.  Yesterday was better. He slept maybe 4 hours. So hopefully it is just the developmental thing.

My baby hasn't been a good sleeper since the beginning. I have noticed that he'll go two or three days without napping much, followed by a day that he naps more. He's 8 weeks now, and things haven't changed much sadly.
