I was in the Nuva ring for just two months. I guess I didn't wait ling enough for my body to get on track with BC again.Here I am 6 1/2 wks pregnant and stressing out. I don't know how people afford day care for two kids. My husband and I make avg money I'd say and I checked into how much for 2 kids at our DC- $1296!!!! That's ridiculous. Thats more than our mortgage. So I will have ti go through the stress of finding a new in home day care I'm sure. Sorry I needed to vent. Its hard not being able to talk about it for another 6 wks.

There is never a "perfect time" to add to your family.  Things will work themselves out.  Try not to stress yourself, even though it's hard.  If it helps at all, DC is way more around here.  We were paying over $2000 a month for 2 kids.  Luckily we were able to find a nanny for significantly less.  Like I said, things will work themselves out.  Just give it a little time.  Congratulations on your new LO.

Even though it was unexpected, congrats anyway. Try not to stress too much, though that's easier said than done, I know. Look into care.com for a possible nanny, or nanny share, these can be cheaper. Is it possible for you or your H to each work from home one day a week? Any family that would be willing to chip in a day?

I'm sure that was pretty shocking, and the daycare thing is crazy. Hopefully you can find something more affordable that works for you. I wasn't prepared for my second LO either. After the shock wore off I was really excited, but I definitely worried more about things like finances. Best of luck to you and congratulations.

Thanks ladies. Its just so soon. Im sure it will all work out. The funny part is that the wk I found out, I had literally just started throwing the idea around if we could handle 2 kids. I guess all I had to do was think about it this time!

I guess my point was, if it's going to happen (a surprise), there's going to be stress about it no matter when it happens.  Now I see the OAD was coming under reconsideration anyway.

I hear you on daycare costs. We pay more like $1,500 for the two kids. But for now, just breathe. Try not to stress, although I know it's hard. People have figured this out, and so will you. Congrats and H&H 9 months to you.

Congrats. My #2 was a huge surprise and I freaked. I wNted to be OAD (ironic since i have 3 now). I called my BFF and she thought someone had died because I was hyperventaliating. Once I calmed down, I got used to the idea. Obviously, I wouldn't trade DS2 for the world. I joke all the time that he's been my lesson in control since day 1.

Good luck. It may take some time, but hopefully you'll feel better when the shock wears off.

Congratulations!  Sorry it was so unexpected.  Would it be an option for you to SAH once LO2 is born?  Once we started looking at daycare prices, we realized that my take home pay was less than it would cost to send 2 babies to daycare in our area.  So we decided I'd stay home.  I know that not everybody wants to SAH, but if you've ever thought about it you could look into it.

congratulations, it will all be okay.   It must be what is meant to be and you'll find a way.

I will say, now I'm a little nervous because I use the NuvaRing too and "think" I'm done - though as my husband says "there have been no surgeries so we might not be done.  I was on the NuvaRing for a  LONG time before getting pregnant with either kid though and no issues.  

ETA: did you have it in for at least a week before DTD?

Daycare is a lot, we pay more than our mortgage for the two kids. The cost is the only real reason for us waiting to have a third. I hope you find something that fits your budget that you love! Plenty of time to decide. Good luck.

Congrats- I freaked out when I found out got KU when DD was just 6 months old, but you will bond with this next baby just as much as you did your first, and you will get so much joy from your second child.  You can do it- give yourself time to adjust.  You have plenty of time to find affordable care!

congrats!  like everyone else said, it will wind up working out.  We are also in the unexpected blessing club, and even though it's been really rough at times for us financially, I wouldn't trade it for anything.  Same would go if we unexpectedly had LO #2.

That's a lot less than our day care costs for just one baby. So to me it doesn't sound bad. 

If you don't want another kid, and you can't afford another kid, maybe you shouldn't have one. If you do want one, I hope you can make it work.
