Tracking AF

I know many of us have restarted our cycles. Now that I have, this means keeping up with my cycle and timing ovulation again. Anyone else started this process? Doesn't it feel like we were doing this not too long ago? Are you more or less anxious about it this time around?

I am curious to see how my cycle turns out without medications. I really expected it to be a horrible first cycle, but it seemed more like a mini cycle. 3 days compared to my previous 7.  Maybe its a trap? LOL

Re: Tracking AF

  • I've had 3 so far (and I still BF on demand). They have all been different and very irregular. I haven't even tried to track them. The only real warning I've had was that my supply dips some a couple of days before I start.

  • Mine are a mess with the Mirena, very light and irregular now. I was tracking, but now that they're lightening up so much, I've lost track.

I had one pp period and then got Mirena placed. I haven't had any since then. I never tracked ovulation before. I did track my periods, although I know that isn't very accurate for ttc, especially since mine were fairly irregular.

If we ever ttc again I will be reading up and tracking things much more carefully.

    So you're saying there's a chance!

:D :bz <-- I need there to be a bird option to go with that!!

  • Still waiting for my period to return. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm kinda ready because the unknown bothers me.

I used the temp tracking method to NOT get pregnant before we were TTC and then still used that and ovulation kits when we were TTC. I found out that I ovulate later than norm. I was planning to only use the ovulation kit for 2 months to see if my ovulation was the same day each month but got pregnant after only two weeks of TTC (don't hate me).

The temp tracking works but it's a PITA!

  • I also got my first PP AF at 3 months and it has now regulated to exactly 29 days which was my cycle pre-pregnancy. I am just tracking the first day of my period so when we are TTC I have a better idea of what's going on
  • I use/used this app called Kindara, on my iPhone for tracking (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kindara-fertility-best-free/id522674372).  It's great because you can plug all sorts of things, like temp., cervical changes, etc.  I'd highly recommend it :)

As for AF, I've been having them every month since I was six weeks PP =P  It still took a few months to get regular (one month it'd be a week late, and negative POAS; and another month, it'd come a week early).  But I was having regular ol' 33 day cycles since Feb. :)

  • The 5 years before going on the pill at 16 my periods were very irregular.

We did not TTC, DS was a huge surprise.

I had Mirena put in around 7 or 8 weeks post-partum, and I have had no AF!

So essentially I'm no help, sorry.
