Our son turns 1 tomorrow, and our friends' daughter is turning 3. Our friends are taking their daughter to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner and they wanted us to come too. It's not for a party, their parties are both this weekend, but just to eat and play. I haven't been there since I was a kid. Is there anything for a one-year-old to do? He never seems to be bothered by loud noises or lots of people. I know every one says it's germy, so I would be carrying around sanitizing wipes to use before he touched anything (yep, I'm THAT mom, and I'm not ashamed). I just don't know if there are any activities geared towards younger toddlers.
At the Chuck E Cheese by my house there isn't really any toys that a 1 year old could do. I would still take him though and keep him occupied eating and with his own toys. As long as you don't plan on being there for hours I don't think it would be a problem.

I think it would be a fun new experience! There's not a lot targeted right at his age range there, but if your son can walk, he would probably have fun wandering around pressing all the buttons and watching all the lights! I definitely wouldn't bother putting any money in the machines at this age; he won't know the difference. They also usually have pretty awesome climbing structures that you could probably go up in with him.
Honestly I don't think I would. Their pizza is horrible and extremely over priced, and there's nothing your LO can do there. And at least the few times I went, it was very crowded with parents and kids to the point of everyone being on top of each other. Even if your LO can walk, with that many people (and keep in mind these are not courteous adults, but children who don't always know right from wrong) I don't think I'd feel comfortable letting DD2 walk in those crowds. Your LO might enjoy watching everything, but I'm betting he can only stay so long in his stroller before he's screaming to get out. What are you just going to follow your friend and their child around after you eat? Just doesn't really make sense to me.
DD is one and I took her to a Zap Zone (laser tag, arcade, etc.) for my friend's older son's 4th birthday party. There was nothing for her to do, but my friend also has a baby who is a couple months younger than DD so they were able to play together and socialize at the table with us. Apart from that, there was literally nothing she was capable of doing there.
