too many naps?

Is it possible?  I feel like LO is good for 2-3 hrs and then needs a nap, she slept till 7 today, went back from 8-9, and back again at 11:30 am.  Should I be worried or grateful?  I just see her yawn and rub eyes and I put her down, my mom thinks its too often...but they arent long naps, about an hour each.

Re: too many naps?

  • Growth spurt? Benjamin is ready 3-4 hours after waking. And again about 4 hours later in the late afternoon. Each nap is anywhere from 1-2 hours.

I just K's cues as well. We usually get 2-3 naps in a day. Teething and crawling is throwing us off some.
ETA: I wouldn't worry about the number of naps. If anything, I would look at the total number of hours slept. But still at that, everyone/baby is different.

  • 2-3 hours is pretty typical of V. In the morning he goes down about 2 hours after he wakes. He naps for about 40 min on an ok day to an hour and a half on a good day. In the afternoon, he usually holds on till about 4:30 or 5 and takes another 40 minutes to an hour.

  • Noah has really taken to the 2-3-4 schedule so his 2 naps fall around 8:30/9:00 and again at 1:15/1:30 (1 - 1 1/2 hrs each). Then he is up by 3ish and down for the night at 7:00.
