What to expect?

I have a dr's apt this evening to discuss my cycles, for the past year I have been charting, temping and checking cm. DH and I plan to ttc in September but I am having a hard time with irregular cycles ranging from 30 days to 68 days (I'm currently on day 68 of my cycle). I am curious as to what will happen, if anything. Anxious to get things rolling here because September is just around the corner.

I don't know what to expect at the appt., but FWIW, my cycles were totally irregular too, and I got pregnant with no medical intervention or special treatment.  Anything is possible!

I think some of that depends on your doctor. Mine had zero interest in my charts and insisted that all I needed to do was take clomid. 

More than likely, your doctor is going to either send you for testing (mine never did), or tell you to come back after you've been TTC for a year.

Hi ladies, thank you for your responses. I just returned from my doctors and was pleased with my visit. He asked questions about my cycles, and was happy to see my charts and actually wrote my cycle dates down in my chart. He palpated my stomach and thyroid. He then gave me a sheet for blood work to test my hormone levels, thyroid, vitamin b12 and CBC (whatever that is). He also gave me a cup to have my husbands sperm analyzed to my husbands displeasure. Doctor just said it was the easiest thing to look at. I'm very happy with my visit and made me feel reassured.

A CBC is a complete blood panel. Essentially it analyzes all the different parts of your blood looking for any irregularities. It's a simple inexpensive way to get a lot of information. It sounds like your doctor is on top of things.

Yeah this seems odd.

I thought that was odd too, I have the form so if down the road we need to do that he can do that but I don't feel that it is needed either at this point in time. Thank you bugandbits for filling me on what a CBC is!

I'd get the SA done. It's really no different that getting a work up on you done. It's another simple inexpensive test that is easily done. There's no harm in having as much information as possible so you are wasting time for 12 months if there is a problem.

Ya? It's going to take some convincing haha my husband was totally caught off guard when I came home with the cup. My doctor was actually very adamant about getting it done, as you said it's an easy thing to cross off the list and will be very informative. If it were me I would want to know everything I could about my body.
