Sorry you were stupid and scheduled your vacation right smack dap in the middle of busy season. You have only been doing this for 10 years, I can totally see why you are surprised that the deadline is the exact same it's always been and we are all annoyed by your vacation. [-(  No, I won't be rushing through some stuff for you so you can get it done before you go on vacation since I have get through other stuff you have moved to my plate since you can't finish it before you leave, and I can't move forward with my work until it's done.

You were doing so well sleeping through the night!  I know you're really interested in trying to walk now, but please please please start sleeping again.

Dear former landlord,

Yes, we moved out before the end of our lease, but you found another tenant who moved in before the lease ended.  You can't legally have two tenants, so you need to refund our prepaid rent and return our security deposit.  And as I told you, if I don't get the money by the end of the week, lawyers will be involved.  And you will be liable for my legal fees.  Why can't you just do the legal, morally correct thing and return money that wasn't ever yours in the first place?  You've been an a$$ is pretty much every interaction we've ever had, and I wish I'd never rented from you.
