So I started LO on formula yesterday as I only have a bit of freezer EBM left. We are just using our local grocery store brand with iron and it stinks so much! All I can smell is the iron. I feel awful feeding it to him on both an emotional level but also because I can't imagine it tastes good with that smell. Any advice? Or are all of the iron containing formulas like that?

We used (similac) Neosure and Enfamil until 6 months. Neosure smelled awful and the boys hated it. I was thrilled when the pedi said we could take them off. Enfamil definitely isn't as good as BM, but the boys never struggled with switching between the two.

All formula has a pretty stinky smell (at least in my experience), some worse than others. It's even worse when it comes back up or gets on your clothes and you're not in a place to change. I have always hated that smell more than anything else.

I agree with PP - all formula I've ever been around is stinky. We use the Sam's brand Gentlease I think is what it's called. It's easy on S's tummy. As long as LO is eating it and his tummy is ok you should be ok!
