weak/patchy Wondfo HPT control lines

Is it normal for the Wondfo HPT control line to be dark on the edges and weak in the middle, with quite a bit of dye streaking up the sides (within the 5-minute window)? I just used two with the same results. Feel free to point me to a previous thread if it exists, but I've only been able to find this type of info on the recall lists, and these don't appear to be part of any of recalled batches. I'm used to the strips from Early Pregnancy Tests, and they're consistently solid and super dark.

I hope this batch is not messed up because I just received my order with the same lot number.

By the time I dug them out of the trash, they were dry and the control lines had evened up a little and the streaks were gone. They were clearly negative even despite the weirdness, but I'm not so sure a positive would've been quite so easy to read. Weird.

I guess it's normal. If it happens again I'll be sure to take a pic before it dries completely.

@ChancieMark Good to know I'm not the only one! I will let them dry a little from now on. I've always thought the ones from Early Pregnancy Tests and Dollar Tree were easier to read when they weren't soaking wet. Plus I remember my faint BFPs from 2011, and evaps and indents don't look anything like true dye reactions.

Thought of you because I just tested and this was my strip too, from the same batch. It did clear up after the 5 mins. FWIW.
