This was my 3rd c-section (first scheduled), and first time asking for a belly binder during recovery. SO worth it. I didn't buy one, just asked the hospital, so it's nothing fancy. But it makes such a difference for getting out of the bed, walking, laughing, coughing... Rather than reaching quickly or a pillow for pressure during some of these times, it's already there. I didn't buy one because I wasn't sure how it would feel over the incision, and it hasn't bothered it one bit. I just pull it low. Not sure if it matters too - but I'm relatively petite and thankfully don't have extra skin wrapping over the binder. If I had quite a belly yet, it could maybe be uncomfortable.
Just thought I'd share as I've seen this brought up a few times on the boards.
