What is a good excuse to not go in a pool?

My office is having a pool party next week and we are all bringing our kids.  My little guy is 2 so he can't go in the pool alone.  I am scheduled for a D&C on Thursday and I read "no pools" for some specified length of time so I'm thinking by next Friday I'll be a no-go for the water.  Most people don't know about the MC.  Is there a good reason I can tell them for not going in the water...especially because someone else would have to take my son since he will clearly want to go in?

I would not go to the party just so you don't have to explain. I tried to go jet skiing 4 days after my miscarriage and it was awkward.

I don't know that there is a good reason.  If you have had diarrhea or vomiting, the often recommend not going in the pool due to transmission of bacteria.  You could say you had the stomach flu?

If you don't think you can avoid the party then I would say that you had really dry itchy skin lately and your dermatologist told you no chlorine!! (I used this excuse a week after my d&c, when I had to go to my cousins birthday pool party, worked like a charm!)

I would just say I forgot my swimsuit.  No medical explanation or lying necessary.
