Update to "Wandering"

I finally called the OT services and spoke with the COTA's boss, the OT.

I expressed my concern that COTA was burnt out and might have to rethink their profession. I also told her sending DS home 4 times in the course of the summer was not good for DS because he is getting no therapy. OT told me she was only aware of one time the COTA sent DS home.

She will be giving me somebody else. And I got recommendations for two other COTA's from the SLP.

It was difficult to say all of this to the OT but it had to be done.

TIA.

Re: Update to "Wandering"

  • Ugh, it is a small town of 40,000.

I will run into this COTA at Home Depot because he works there also. He volunteers to work the kids' workshop and DS loves going. And then there was the one time DH and I went to Sam's.

I need a bigger town. I miss my bigger hometown. It was easy to hide and the chances of running into someone was very slim.

Two of DS's preschool therapists are well acquainted with his Kindergarten teacher. I was really happy I hadn't blown the gasket I wanted to at the end of the previous year, when they left me out of a decision (they decided the way I wanted or I would have requested a reevaluation-hopefully nicely but IDK ). They all stayed after the Kindergarten Transition meeting to catch up. I live in a suburb of Denver in the largest district in the state.
