Biting Breastfeeder

LO has decided to test out his little tooth - ON MY NIPPLE. He's doing it more frequently, and then he pulls back and laughs. It HURTS! What on earth can I do to discourage a not quite 9 month old? Anyone?
And i'm shaken then i'm still. When your eyes meet mine, i lose simple skills. Like to tell you all i want is now. Anniversary Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Re: Biting Breastfeeder

  • I delatch and say, "no biting," firmly but not in a loud voice. It worked after the second time in a row, and he hasn't bitten since. GL to you!

  • I can't help but react...it freaking hurts! I pull her off, say no biting mommmy and put her down. She cries so I know she gets it. She has only bitten me when she is about to cut a tooth.

She actually just did it just this morning but this time after she cried for a few seconds she said "nnnnnn (which means no for her) mama" and it broke my heart.

  • ^^ H also got VERY sad when I had to take him off. It was one of the harder moments I've had as his mother.
