My DD is almost 2 and bites her nails - a lot. She gets it from her mom
And, I got it from my mom :P So, I know it started as imitation (and I'm trying REALLY hard to stop, or at least not do it in front of her - though I usually don't do it consciously). I think it has become a bad habit rather quickly when she is bored or perhaps other emotions??
How do I get her to stop? She often has bitten very close to the skin, caused some bleeding under one of her nails by (I'm assuming) just biting down really hard.
Oh yes- I have been a nail bitter all my life. I have times where I stop- I think it is more stress related now, BUT things my parents did to me to TRY and make me stop were....
gloves/socks on hands at night/for naps this ick stuff they used on my sister for her thumb, tried it on my nails I believe there is nail polish that tastes bad when you try to bite- try that!
