HELP!!!!!

Ok so I've read all over to not eat deli meats.. I asked my OB and he said no mystery meats but ham is ok. So ive avoided this whole time, and I broke today. I was craving a ham and cheese sandwhich so DH got me one from our local spot which is very well known. I got thru half of it, and my stomach got so upset. TMI warning... I ran to the bathroom with green stool and my stomach is bubbly. I'm thinking its because I haven't had ham in over 4 mmonths.. any ideas? I'm terrified of listeria and I'm not eating deli meats for the rest of this pregnancy.... nj

Sounds like more of an upset stomach. From what I read you don't get side effects immediately.
Listeriosis is the catch-all name for becoming ill with the food-borne bacterium known as Listeria monocytogenes. It typically takes a long time for these bacteria to invade the body, where they get into the bloodstream. This means symptoms may show up as late as two months after the original contact with the bacteria.

Thank u for some relief. I think this is an upset stomach as well. I don't eat pork often at all, the last time was Christmas last year so its been a while. I'm now drinking lots of water and then going to take a soothing bath.

Now I'm craving ham and cheese. Lol. As long as it's heated you can eat lunch meat. Heat kills listeria.

I eat Ham all the time. un-heated. I think you have another tummy issue instead of listeria. I hope you feel better soon.

Food doesn't digest that fast...it couldn't be half the ham sandwich

I've always had a weak stomach. Things that I'm not familiar with upset me extremely. Especially meats, I usually only eat chicken and rare occasions ham. I'm not crazy bout other meats. Thanks ladies,

I eat deli meats. My dr said the likelihood of anyone getting listeria from deli meat is so rare it's more of an outdated pregnancy myth. I have about one subway sandwhich once every 1 to 2 weeks. So far so good.
