Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Has anyone left their LO for 4-5 days?

DH and I taking a vacation soon and will be leaving LO for 4 nights and really about 5 full days.  As it gets closer, I'm getting more and more nervous about leaving LO. I've left him overnight before, but never for this long.

I also think that what adds to my stress level is that when we booked the vacation a few months ago, we asked my in-laws to come to our house and stay with LO the entire time and they said they would.  But now they are saying them have to take him home with them which means a 2+ hour car ride each way and staying at their house which is not baby proofed...and they sometimes aren't the best about keeping a constant eye on him.  They are very laid back.  By way of example, they once took him on a golf cart which is not something that I would have done.  When DH told them not to do that again, they were okay with it but I worry a little bit about what else they might do (especially if they are at their own house) that I don't foresee to say "don't do that."  So now I feel like I am not only worried about missing him, but I also worry a little about his safety.  DH acts like I am being silly.

  • Sorry for the typos. I would edit, but I don't see a way.

  • I have left him with DH/daycare for that long when I have to travel for work.

We are going on a 6 day vacation in October and my in-laws are coming up to stay with him and share time with daycare. I am also starting to get nervous about leaving him, which is very unlike me. He hasn't seen either of them in a while and likely won't see them until then. I don't want him to be afraid or think we left him for good. I'm hoping the keeping him in the daycare routine during the week will help. Good luck!
