Cloth Diapering

flats

I've never used flats before. I haven't really used prefolds either, except to stuff a pocket with occassionally. I stopped by a baby resale store near my house this weekend and they have  a set of 10 flats for sale for 7.50. Is that a good deal? Is there anything I could use them for? I don't know what kind they are. They're white and kind of gauzy.

Re: flats

  • If they are gauzy the might be muslin?

I have some Disana organic unbleached muslin flats and they work pretty well either as a folded diaper or to stuff pockets. They tend to crinkle up if they are dried in the dryer, so I actually prefer to line dry them. They would be even better ironed, but I'm too lazy to do that.
  • I prefer flats to prefolds, they are easier to wash, dry faster and you wont need multiple sizes. I like the Bamboo ones from Blueberry but they are pricey. I only have about 6 flats thought, I really wanted to give them a try and I like them but nothing beats my AIOs.
