labor and delivery????

Hey... I am trying to send my friend flowers who just had a baby. I am totally having a brain fart on what the unit is called after you had the baby. Is it still labor and delivery or is there another name?

At my hospital, it was labor and delivery, or the birthing center.
Eta: at my hospital, you stayed in the same room the whole time. At other hospitals they move you to a different room after you've delivered. Not sure what the unit is called in that case.

At our hospital, you're in labor and delivery and then moved to the post-partum unit.

Recovery was called Mother Baby, and my permanent room was on the post partum unit..

  • Labor & delivery at my hospital is where you deliver and then mother baby is where you get moved to and stay after delivery.
  • Mother/Baby, Mother/Infant, or Post-Partum Unit should get the flowers to the right place.

  • My hospital was L&D for L&D and Mommy and Baby Unit for recovery and the rest of the stay.
