Smart phone or camera?

Any BTDT Moms have preferences re: using my iPhone v. a higher end camera for everyday baby pics? I know I'd probably get better quality from a camera, but in your experience, is it more hassle than its worth to pull out the camera all the time instead if using my phone, which will be handy most of the time? Thank you in advance!

Re: Smart phone or camera?

  • I use both and I have a full frame DSLR which is HEAVYYYY but I obviously prefer the photos from it so I try to use it more. Although if it's just something quick I'll grab my iPhone. But a lot of new smart phones have pretty good cameras on them these days that could almost compare to a point and shoot.

  • I have a DSLR and a Point & Shoot but I always use my smartphone.  My phone has an 8 MP camera and it takes great pics and I always have it with me so it's just easier.  I'll use my DSLR for special occasions but it's too big/heavy to take with my every where.

  • I use my DSLR far more often than I use the phone on my camera. I upgraded to the DSLR because I was not happy with the pictures I was getting from my point and shoot. The DSLR is bulky and not practical to take everywhere, but I am much happier with the quality of images it produces, especially in dark(er) spaces, than those I would have gotten from my P&S or my phone.
