Officially freaking out!!

We leave tomorrow to finalize the adoption of my niece and nephew. We have had custody of them for six months and my sister has revoked her rights. As of the fourteenth I will be a mommy of five beautiful kids, under seven and a half!! I have survived the last six months with two who are six months apart. DD3 was six days short of six months when my niece was born and we have had custody of her since birth. One year I went from two to five kids. Yes this time last year I did know I was having another one, as her first birthday is on the twentieth, but if you said a year later we would have five I would have laughed. We found out at Christmas they were taking her youngest two away. Thy were going into social services. My dh and I decided to step up and take custody of them.
It is a rambling post, sorry!!

Can I ask something though...it's pretty nosey. Do you have contact with your sister at all? Do the kids?

We do. She comes and visits usually every other month or so. I didn't want her to completely be shut out of their life. If she wanted to make the effort, I wasn't going to stand in her way. She has medical issues and hasn't made the best life decisions.

Congratulations! I read something that you are maxed our with what you have. If you have two kids, you're maxed out until you have the third, etc. I am sure you are (and will!) do great, all the kids are very lucky!
