Trouble TTC

Clomid & Ovidrel Question

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site and I wanted to see if anyone can give me some advice or share in their experience with me.
My cycle before going to my RE was usually between 40 - 45 days. I took my first round of Clomid this month and then took the Ovirdel trigger shot on July 26th, so that should mean that I would have O'd around the 28th. My RE said that my lining was thick and that I had three mature follicles (fingers crossed).
Anyway, since my cycle was so long in the past, it usually would take me about 20 days to see AF come. Since I took the Ovidrel shot should AF come sooner?
I should have asked my RE, but I forgot.
Also, have any of you been told to take HPT or Ovulation Kit Tests in the afternoon or evening instead of 1st thing in the morning? My RE told me that the last time I was in the office and I was shocked. Everything I've read tells you to take those tests in the morning when you wake up. I just want to see what you all have been told.

Thank you so much for any advice and I wish you all the best in TTC.

Re: Clomid & Ovidrel Question

  • When you can expect your period depends on how long your luteal phase is, but usually you can expect your period about 2 weeks after you ovulate. It's better to take OPKs in the afternoon because that is when LH peaks, but it is better to take HPTs in the morning when urine is more concentrated.
