I've gone from most routine pregnancy ever to high risk. [[Update]]

So no one bothered to take my worries about having the baby early into consideration. I was 5.5 weeks early and my mom was around 4. My brother was term only because she was on bedrest after 33 weeks. But none of my doctors believed me when I said I was worried I was at risk. (Except one doctor here, who confirmed my risk is 6-8x that of someone without a family history).

Friday morning at 4am I woke up and couldn't sleep. I'd felt sick all day, and I was having Braxton Hicks. Only they started coming ever 10-15 minutes. Next hour, every 10. So I called and the on call doctor told me to come in. That hour they were ever 5. By the time I got to the hospital, every 2-3 for 30 seconds.

I had a positive result on my test, so there's a 30% chance I'll have the baby soon. My odd of carrying to term are pretty slim at this point, especially almost 24hr of meds later and my uterus is still "irritable". The slightly bigger ones tapered off after 21 hours. Now they're just tiny blips every few minutes. My cervix was still closed yesterday, but slightly shorter than it should have been and funnels when pressure is put on it, which is a bad sign. (It feels normal in exams, but the top may start to efface more and dilate).

Depending on my cervix, I'm either getting transferred to a bigger hospital because I'll probably be forced to deliver soon, or I'll be at home on bedrest with medication. Sitting up, my contractions are now stronger again, so I'm not happy about that at all. I get my second steroid shot in a couple hours just in case.

I'm really hoping I can keep her in for another 4 weeks at least (I'm 30 weeks, 4 days) and am so frustrated that my body isn't doing its job and keeping her safe. Regardless, I'm bracing myself because I know I probably won't be able to take my baby home after delivery and she'll probably have a NICU stay. I just want that stay to be as short as possible.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your thoughts and comments. I've read all of them, but there's a lot so I can't individually respond to all of them. I appreciate every single one, though. For now, I'm at home and on bed rest which will hopefully be changed to modified best rest after my next appointment. The doctors will be shocked if I carry to 36 weeks, let alone term, but are hoping for just a couple more weeks. For now its day by day, week by week. My cervix is still closed and firm, which is good. It's hard to know how long it'll stay that way though.
