Where to begin?

I'm new to the CD game so I'm still learning everything there is to know about it. My questions today are: 

where do you begin? 

Should I buy a starter pack or just buy individual diapers? 

When did you start buying diapers? I'm only 4 weeks right now but I want to get a head start. 

We have a Sweet Babybottoms boutique in my town so I plan on utilizing them as much as possible but I still want to know what you ladies did. TIA!

What I WISH I had done, and would have saved me lots of money, was doing a trial. Jillian's Drawers has a great one IMO. You get to try different popular brands and send back the ones that don't work for you. I've spent a lot of money on trying out different brands that didn't end up working. I've been able to sell some of them, but at a loss of course, and they're practically brand new. If I could turn back time...

Watch the 7 part Cloth Diapering 101 series on YouTube.  She goes through the different options available out there so you can start to get an idea of what would work for your family's lifestyle.  I'm jealous you have a CD store! I would definitely spend an afternoon in there talking to the employees and touching everything.  

Keep in mind that the one-size diapers won't fit well on a NB so most get a separate NB stash.

The Cloth Diapering 101 series on youtube was fantastic for me - and really helped to convince DH that CDs wouldn't be a big deal.  I also read a lot of information on the green mountain diapers website (which is where I ordered the first part of my stash from - mostly prefolds and covers).  I'll second being jealous about having a CD store close by!

Also, lurk on this board as much as possible - I think this is how I learned the most!
