FET Lining issues: PCOS to blame!

So RE called me himself this AM after I called yesterday to follow up on FET being delayed due to thin lining, but got the call from a random nurse.  He was SO helpful and able to explain what he thinks is going on.  First, the random nurse gave me wrong information when she told me they wanted me at a lining of 6.5 minimum (I was nervous that minimum was too low); he will not let me proceede until I am at least a 7.0 and ET would be 5 days later.  I feel better about that.  Also, he reassured me that I am not that far off from where he wants me to be, but that he is not going to settle as he wants this FET to be successful.

I asked him about why my lining is thin this cycle when it has never been an issue in any previous cycle.  Apparently at my ultrasound (CD 17) I had NO measurable follicles as well as none that they would count in the "less than 12mm" category.  Since I have no follies to produce estrogen (because I am not on any meds to force my body to produce follicels and my stupid PCOS makes it so it will not happen naturally), my body only has the vivelle and esterace which got me to 6.1.  He is confident that my lining will be at an 8.0 by my monitoring on Sunday and that I just needed more time since I am not producing any of my own estrogen to add to the party.  He did not want to up my vivelle or esterace at this point in time; he would do it on Sunday if I am still not ready.

I do much better when I know the "why" in a situation so hearing this helped calm some of my anxiety!

Anyone else run into this issue?  Did your lining end up catching up?

CD 17 was first monitoring.  Lining was 6.1 and my RE does not test E2 with a FET because he believes that the information provided by the ultrasound trumps the E2 blood level.

  • Wow! I did not know PCOS could impact the lining. Yet another thing to worry about. I have been on estrogen for about 2 wks and my lining check is on Friday. I can't wait to find out how it's doing. I hope your lining will get to where you need it to be. How long have you been on estrogen?

  • Had lining check #2 today, and JUST passed.  Nurse called and said I was at 7.16 (have to be at 7.0 or higher) but that it was triple layer and the quality was really good.  Kind of frustrated since it only went up 1.06 after 5 more days on estrogen; RE said he expected me to be at an 8.0 today after my first check.

I start Crinone tonight, thaw is Tuesday and t/f is a go for Friday!  I asked about them checking my lining again day of ET and nurse said they don't usually but they would do it if we wanted them to.

DH continues to freak out...asked me to make him a drink with dinner, which I think he has done once before in the 5 years we have been together!  I guess he is a little nervous!
