I have ds1's 15 month appt and ds2's 1 month appt. DH can not make it, should I try to reschedule? If you think I can do it on my own, any tips. I was thinking I could get ds2 in just his diaper and wear him in all ready to go to speed things up.
Thanks
Honestly it sounds unpleasant, but doable. I would try to keep your older child in a stroller, until it is his turn. Make sure you have a special snack and some toys to entertain your older child. And make sure you have the baby recently fed. Give yourself extra time because making it out of the house with both, is half the challenge. Good Luck!
Bring something you know will keep your oldest occupied.. I did DS1's one year and DS2's "new baby" appointment together (DH was there, though).. and, as long as DS1 had something to keep him occupied he was fine.. I think in the 25 minutes we were in there, he ate nearly an entire container of puffs LOL..but, he was quiet! Good luck! ANd, I agree with PP -- making it to the appointment on time was the hardest part!! Good thing I aimed to be there 20 minutes early to fill out "paperwork".. I ended up getting there just in time for my scheduled appointment time!!
I always have both girls with me at appts, whether they're both being seen or just one. They are used to it now and both are good about sitting nicely with a book while the other is being checked over.
At the age your LO's are, I would bring the stroller and keep your older LO contained. Bring books, toys, a snack and a sippy for the older LO and make sure the baby has been fed and changed. Have both kids in an outfit that is easy on/off. And if the nurses in your office are anything like mine, they will jump at the chance to help or hold a new baby

I had DD's 18 month appointment and DS's 1 month together and it was no problem. GL! You can do it!

I actually always have the kids' appointments together. Much better than going in twice. If you can wear one and keep the other in the stroller at least most of the time, it shouldn't be a problem.
I had DS1's 18 month and DS2's 6 week appointment at the same time. I did ask my mom to come with me because they were both getting shots. It's definitely doable but I enjoyed having the extra hands so I was able to grab each boy and hold them after shots.
For any other appointments (whether its just for one or for both) I've taken them both (sometimes my mom will offer to keep one at her house) and it really is no biggie. The only bad thing is DS1 gets nervous and wants to be held but I have the baby to carry (he's out of the infant car seat so I can't bring it plus he hates being put down. He wouldn't stay in a stroller and that would just be an extra thing to deal with).
I make sure to bring a toy bag. Lots of snacks, his cup, books and then a few small toys.
I've always brought both together alone outside of important specialist visits and the only time it's ever been a problem is when one is sick and just completely miserable. Otherwise my oldest would play with toys/other kids in the waiting room and I wore the baby.
I did this for DD1's 18 month and DD2's 6 month. Horrible! It was just constant crying. DD1 doesn't do we'll with strangers so the dr freaked her out immediately. I'm taking them to their 1 yr and 2 yr check ups in 2 weeks and will be by myself. I know it'll be easier this time because they'll each have a toy (or my phone) to keep them occupied. I like your idea of having the baby all ready in a carrier. I should have done that!
