Parenting after a Loss

BPF: Straw cup and Shark Week!

Happy Friday Ladies!

Here is Phoebe trying out her straw cup. She loves to hold it and knows her mouth goes on the straw. I can give this cup a tiny squeeze to force the milk up the straw, and she is drinking pretty well that way, but she's still having trouble sucking it up herself.

And here she is trying to cram Sophie's entire head in her mouth. This cracks me up because she'll get frustrated and try to attack it like a shark, she'll chomp down and shake her head back and forth and grunt. It's too funny!

  • @Gknauff79 Absolutely worth it!  I thought the same thing at first about the price, but it really is a great toy.  If I put a few toys in front of her, she'll almost always choose Sophie over the others.  DH calls it Gerry the Giraffe because he thinks the name Gerry goes better with Giraffe, but I keep telling him we paid for the Sophie name, IT'S SOPHIE!  :P

  • Love the shark attack pic! My DD attacked my face yesterday and tried to bite my nose, lol. I totally thought of Shark Week.  Sophie is a huge hit in my house too.

Your baby is so sweet! What kind of sippy cup do you have? Ours is just ok so I'm on the market for another.

  • @nuttycoconut It's the Playtex brand Lil' Gripper Straw Trainer. I read a lot of reviews that say it leaks, but I think this is mainly for those kids that can walk around with it or squeeze too hard and milk comes shooting out. Phoebe is only 4 1/2 months, so she doesn't have that kind of control, and we'll move to something more durable when that does happen.

I'm going to try Gerry the Giraffe with DH.  He has a problem with us buying a "Sophie" toy for his little man.  (facepalm)

  • She's getting so big!!! Love both these pics- B does the same thing with Sophie, it's hysterical!

@Gknauff79 I agree that Sophie is well worth the $20 price tag. After his interlocking rings, Sophie is Ben's favorite toy!

  • @Michbot12 Did you see my response to nuttycoconut above?  It's the Playtex Lil Gripper Straw Trainer.  I went with a straw instead of normal sippy because she doesn't want to lean back anymore for a bottle.  She wants to lean forward to drink.
