Nosy neighbor!

So I was out for a walk today with my son and I bumped into my neighbor, the baby was sleeping, so she took a quick peek then proceeded to ask "what we've been doing to such a sweet baby that they hear him scream so much" I explained that we are trying to get him to nap on his crib, he doesn't like it, so we're trying to let him cry it out for 20 min or so. She gave me a look that insinuated I was a bad mom! I love having the windows open when it cools down enough, but not if I'm sparking convo up in the neighborhood bc I let my baby cry a little bit!

  • I probably would have told her "pinching him" just for the reaction. DD2 was colicky and screamed every.single.night. You could literally hear her from the street with all doors and windows closed. I know because I would take breaks outside away from the sound. No one complained, but one did offer to help.

  • Our neighbors are awful and nosy! None of our neighbors saw me with my pregnant belly (we had a long winter and a late spring here in MN), so when one of them came up to my DH and said "I heard you had a baby! congrats! Her name is cora, right? What was she? 7 lbs..?" and we were super freaked out by it until we realized they heard it through the grapevine on FB from a friend of mine from school who's parents live down the street from us.  I'll tell you what - it made me think twice about posting stuff about her on the internet!

  • Wow! It's amazing what comes out of the mouths of some people! I can't believe she said that to you!!
