Re: transition to bed

  • We just transitioned a few weeks ago.  My DD is about the same age as your DS.  The transistion went great.

  • We also transitioned 2 weeks ago, and did so gradually.  DS did much better than I expected, and even reminds me to put up the gate!

  • With both kids my goal was to wait until they turn 3. If you can hold out, you should try

  • We moved DD1 around 2.5 (no toddler bed, just real bed). We're planning to move DD2 (2.5 now) this week.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
  • We converted DD's crib into a toddler bed at 18mo when we saw her climb out. The transition took about a week. We just moved her into a twin bed last night, so that she's used to it before DD2 comes in December.

  • We did it at 2 1/2 to a twin bed with no issues.
  • We switched DD to a toddler bed when she decided at 16 months that climbing out was fun.  She "helped" me put it together and couldn't wait for it to be finished.  She loves it and even just goes to lay down on it when she is tired.
