I accidentally left my humidifier on all Summer, plugged in and running
with an empty tank. I think it was "supposed" to turn itself off when it
ran out, but when I moved my hand over the spout, there was definitely a
breeze. I only noticed it when I went to start using it today and
realized it was still plugged in from the last time I ran it (likely end
of last Winter). It sits in the corner of my room, so I hadn't
noticed.
I lifted the tank out and the reservoir below was really gross... a
bunch of yellow/brown. I think I cleaned it all, and the humidifier
seems to be working okay, but I'm wondering if I should buy a new one
anyway? They are only $50... perhaps there's some gunk in the machine
itself that I missed and running it all Summer long did some damage?
In case it helps, here's the model:

So it's filter free and everything....
Re: Any humidifier experts here?
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
