eek! Cooking help needed! re: shepherd's pie

which layer goes on the bottom? ?The beef, right? ?Then the veggies, then the potato? ?Or do you mix the veggies in with the beef? ?Does it really matter either way? ?I am the world's worst cook. ?

I mix gravy, meat and veggies, then top with potato.

beef on bottom, then veggies and potato on top.  Not that I've ever made it but I see it at the school when they serve it.

I made this recipe and it was really good! You could just do all potatoes if you don't like the cauliflower substitute

This is the recipe we use and it is really good.  My dh doubled the rosemary that it called for and it was even better in our opinion.

I mix together beef, veggies, and sauce (usually a combo of gravy and cream of ___ soup) and then top with mashed potatoes.

I put potato on the bottom, meat and veggies in the middle and then more potato on top.  Really I don't think it matters, it all gets mixed up anyways.

My version of shepherd's pie is lamb on the bottom (made with the leftovers from a roast leg of lamb), leftover gravy, then peas, topped with mashed potatoes. Yum!

Can you tell I had an Irish nana, LOL? ?
