Help - I look too pregnant already!

My hubby was gone for a few days and when I got home from work tonight he said "Yup, you look pregnant!"  I have only gained a pound or two, but my tummy is so bloated and I went up a cup size.  I am only about 9 weeks tomorrow and have a feeling people are going to start questioning me at work.

Any tips for concealing my belly as much as possible?  It is finally getting warm now and a baggy sweater just won't do! grrr

  • Where do you live that it's getting warm? lol and just a FYI, heat and bloat don't mix well so beware. I'm Going to be 10 weeks Friday and I am extremely bloated to the point where I can't breathe and I've just been wearing long, lite weight, cardigans. Covers up the larger areas. Other than that. Sun dresses have been the way to go.

  • Pop is such a bloater, stick with water, milk, tea. Belly bands are a nice tummy smoother.
Yea where do you live? Here In Oklahoma its begining to feel like a dungeon.

  • Good advice from PPs, if anyone does question you, let them know it's a rude question and deny until you are ready to go public.

    I've been doing:
    • lightweight scarves to strategically cover the belly
    • wear a blazer or cardi over your top
    • looser tops
    • a-line or fuller skirts or wide-legged pants (makes your waist/top look smaller while hiding blump below the waist)
    • maxi dress that's a little looser/more flowy so it doesn't cling to the belly

It's annoying, I know! I'm still in hiding at work and by the end of the day I just want to bust out of everything. Ugh.

  • I've got some sheer lightweight tops that hide me pretty well (plus a cami to hold it all in more). Or skirts & sundresses with small cardigans.
  • Flowy tops, dresses, A line skirts. Its crazy I know.

THIS. I do NOT for the life of me understand why people think it's ok to ask if you're pregnant. Obviously, if I was and wanted you to know, I would tell you. Otherwise, it's none of your freaking business!!!
  • I've been stressing about hiding my b(l)ump at an upcoming family wedding, so I did some googling and found this awesome thread with lots of pictures on how to dress to hide a first tri belly.

  • I'm having the same problem.  I'm 8w1d and I think a good 3-4 months.  DH also noticed...  I'm trying to wear looser shirts.  I just feel so gross!

  • Thanks so much everyone!  I work in a law office, and "flowy, loose" outfits are hard when you need to dress ultra-professional most days.  So far so good though.  For those that asked, I live in Chicago - and what I meant by finally getting warm, is that our summer has been so mild really, and this past week had a couple really hot days.  I think it will cool back down, but not enough for sweaters.   I have a couple outfits and pieces that work, but the ladies will notice that I am rotating through the same outfit or two.  I do need to pick up some scarves!

I do not drink any soda or sugary drinks.  All green tea and water - occasionally coconut water. However, I have noticed I have been craving and eating a lot of salt - which I am sure is causing the extra bloat! :(
