using Care.com?

i'm trying to plan childcare for baby #1 (due Jan '14).

have any of you posted a job opening on Care.com before? and is there a way for me to view other job openings? i just want to see what information people list and read a few before posting my own.

not 100% either way on if we'll do in-home or daycare center, but i do want to check all avenues.

Thanks!

Re: using Care.com?

  • I just posted this question about a month ago and we found a great nanny on care.com since. I do recommend it!

  • I used it just within the past month and it was great. I ended up hiring a nanny referred by a friend; however, I did interview 3 from Care. I really liked all of them. I think it's worth the money. You will have no shortage of applicants. Good luck!

  • We've had great success with care.com.  We LOVED our first nanny who was with us for 2 years until she left in May to have a baby. Our second nanny has been a great find as well.  You can read other ads placed by families as well as those from nannies, but you can't respond to any of them without paying.  I placed an ad (rather than responding) and we got tons of responses.  You'll definitely have to weed out the people who don't read your requirements, but even after you do that, you'll still have plenty of qualified candidates to chose from.

  • Same here, we just hired a nanny and found a great babysitter for evenings and weekends on care.com. We interviewed 3 and got lots of other applicants that seemed great but just weren't available for exactly what we needed.
  • I am a lurker here but I used it to find a part time nanny for my LO when I went back to work.  I did not post an ad but I searched the available people.  I liked that they did background/criminal record checks.  We interviewed three and went with the one we felt most comfortable with.  I highly recommend it.
