Possibility of having to be induced... :/

I originally wanted an all natural birth, but at my appointments they've been tracking my growth and did an ultrasound today and my baby hasn't been growing for a while. So long story short, if not a whole lot changes on the 19th they'll be inducing me that night or the next day. I'm honestly really nervous now. I feel like i'm gonna have to lay in a bed with an IV stuck in my arm the whole time and have heard that an induced labor is a lot more painful. I still would like to go without an epidural or anything, but not sure I can do it. Has anyone here been induced and still went without any pain medication? Any advice or encouragement would be great.

I'm not a mom, but I do have a somewhat relevant story: 

My Mom did it natural both times, but was on Pitocin for me. She said the even though I was the second baby, it was harder because of the Pitocin and a non-supportive doctor. She still managed to avoid meds though, so it CAN BE DONE. 

That being said, there's no shame in using an epidural if you feel like you really need it. If something is going on with your baby and the Pitocin is kicking your ass, and you've got a while to go; do it. Whatever you do, don't be too hard on yourself. Try your best. Don't let anyone push you around but listen to your body.

I was induced and after 12 hours I caved and got the epidural.  However, up to that point I could get out of bed and move around.  The IV pole just had to go with me.  I was also hooked up to the monitors but the cables gave me a fair amount of movement and I could unhook to use the restroom.  In fact the nurses encouraged me to get out of bed, even if it was just to sit in a chair.

Sorry I don't have any experience.  But I remember my MW saying that one of the reasons women struggle with inductions is that they feel like they have to lay in bed.  She says she encourages patients to stand next to the bed, sit on a birthing ball, bring the rocking chair near the bed etc.  Good luck!

I had two doses of cytotec before the birth of my first child and made it through without the epi.  I had back labor too, which sucked.  It was a harder birth than my second which had no interventions, but it's still possible.  Just try to stay positive and motivated.  Good Luck.
