Puffy Vest

Kind of a silly poll but what are you thoughts on puffy vests on toddlers? Cute? Ridiculous? Waste?  All of the above?  I bought one for DS because I think they are cute, albeit I know they aren't totally practical since I wouldn't put DS in it when he is in the carseat, but I thought it would be good for fall before it gets too cold when we're outside.  He can layer it with a sweatshirt or sweater.  DH said it was a completely ridiculous purchase.  I'm willing to concede he might not be totally off base but before I give him the pleasure of being right - would you dress your toddler in a vest like this?

  • Absolutely.  I love my puffy vest in the fall.  I probably wouldn't spend a ton of money on it, but I certainly don't think it's a completely ridiculous purchase!

  • I think they're cute. I wouldn't put it on while in the car seat either, but I think it's a nice layering option while playing outside in the fall.

I love my own puffy vest too.  That's why I thought it would be so cute for DS.  DH says if it's cold enough to warrant puffy down material, why would you not want sleeves too. LOL!

I'm probably going to have to go with your DH on this one, but I also don't live anywhere cold enough to justify one at all, so I don't get why you wouldn't want something with sleeves if it's cold enough for anything filled with down.
  • I think they're cute! But yea, definitely wouldn't have it on in the car seat.

  • Totally cute AND totally ridiculous! (The sleeve thing)
  • Thanks ladies! I appreciate the feedback! I guess I'll be keeping the tags on a bit longer before deciding if returning it is worth my husband thinking he's right!  :)

  • Personally, I think they're cute and like them as a layer when I don't want a bulky coat on. On the other hand, the top of the zipper usually drives me nuts b/c it scrapes on my chin all day when the collar stands up. We had the same issue with one of DS's fleece pullovers last year. Might be something to check out before you decide whether or not to keep it.

  • I love them, but I only paid 5 bucks for dd's at a garage sale. They look new. I think they won't get used a whole lot since they are not compatible with carseats.
