1. My FIL has fallen severely ill. He won't be able to drive out for Lincoln's birthday and I am afraid of the stress toll on DH.
2. My kid is now awake (thanks to the aforementioned dogs) but since he isn't crying I am not rushing in there. 2 years is tough!
3. I'm about to make some bacon. Is everyone who hates "bacon smell" in their home gone now from this board?
4. Target has a line of sauces from Rick Bayless (of Frontera notoriety.) Last night's dinner was literally so delicious, I don't think I will go to a restaurant for Taco Tuesday ever again. Except, no pina coladas at my house. Boo!
5. Betwen Emeals.com and sauce pouches (Campbell's makes a good scampi, FYI) I don't think I will be doing any real cooking for the forseeable future.
Re: Randoms
1. The swing is my BFF today. DD has been on a perfect wake 1hr, nap 2hrs schedule.
2. We leave in 45 minutes for her 2 month appointment, so that's going to ruin #1. Yay. At least I had a good morning.
3. I was watching a show on TLC and saw an ad for a show called "Amish Mafia." Whaaaa...? I think this is why I stopped watching shows on TLC. I used to watch it religiously for "Trading Spaces" and "What Not to Wear" and "A Baby Story," but they have some crazy stuff on there these days.
4. I had my job interview yesterday. I really liked the professor who would be my direct supervisor, enough that I told DH that I would probably take the job if they offer it and it pays enough money to cover daycare and gas with a little leftover for me to play with.
5. I'm still holding out hope for a last-minute call from one of the colleges where I put in applications to teach as an adjunct. Hopefully that phone call comes before I hear about the office job.
Sorry to hear about FIL. I hope he gets better soon - maybe you can have a belated bday celebration with him?
Ladybug, gotta love those days where the sleep and wake patterns fall perfectly!
Kimbus, I agree with Mama Ha....I'm in such a rush to get in and out of the market whenever I have a kid with me, I just rush and get the bare essentials. But alone...a leisurely hour long stroll through the market can break the bank!
I got out of the house yesterday for some "me" time for the first time since DD2 was born. I got a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. It was amazing to have some quiet time to read and relax alone!
The rest of the day was rough, though. DD1 was good, but the baby would.not.sleep. By dinnertime, DH and I gave up and packed the kids in the car to go for a drive. We ate Chick Fil A while driving around, just to get some peace.
I'm thinking about taking the kids to the tot lot. DD1 is playing so nicely, I don't want to disturb her to get ready, but I know she could start begging to go out any moment. I should pack up and go before the whining starts.
1. My younger brother has been missing for 2 months. Just found someone from our home town that saw him Monday. My brother has always had trouble and he has done lots of things recently that have added a lot of stress to my family.
2. Work has been super busy and we had 2 employees die last week. One killed on the job and on killed in an accident.
3. My MIL is driving me nuts. She is mad at me because I shot down her idea for Chase's birthday party gift. DH and I decided we weren't ready to change Chase's room and she is all pissed because she wanted to buy a whole new theme bedding for his room.
4. I NEED A VACATION ASAP!
