***2IF WEEKLY UPDATE***

Hi ladies!

Okay, so please provide a brief history and a summary of where you are at in your cycle now.

We have MFI and conceived DS after4 yrs ( 2 failed IUI's) and the rest clomid or just natural.

Right now I'm on the third cycle ttc # 2 (I think. I have to look at my calendar) I'm on CD 15 and due to ovulate any day now! So almost to the 2ww!

QOTW: What is a weird habit that you have?

For example, I roll the windows down whenever I go over a bridge in the car (so I can get the car door open under water)

Yes, I'm crazy. I've just embraced it. But, watch, now I've said that - I bet you start doing it too!

Re: ***2IF WEEKLY UPDATE***

  • I am on my 13th cycle TTC #2. We have an app't with the Fertility Specialist next Friday. So far the cause is MFI (low testosterone).

Weirdest Habit- let's stick with driving- Anytime I am in the car and next to a big truck, I close my eyes (even for a split second) as I pass him. I was in a car accident with a truck in '99 and it still freaks me out. On a bridge I have to be in one of the inside lanes, I refuse to be in the outside lane.

  • Hi all!

We have been trying for over two years.  Currently, I am on CD6, and on Friday I will be having an HSG done, (my 2nd time) to determine if they want to take my tubes out before IVF.

DX: Endometriosis, and blocked tubes.  I have a son from a previous relationship.

Weird habit? Hmm.. OH this is going to sound wacky… But if I am about to use restroom and there is a shower in there, that is closed. I have to open it to see if anyone is in there.  I do this at home too.

Oh man... Did I seriously just admit to that. sigh

  • Hi all!

CD 10 here, ready to pull the trigger tonight. I mean, push the trigger. :) Our IUI #2 is set for Friday morning. So far I have 2-3 growing folliclecs, so hopefully they will be ready to go on IUI day. Been TTC #2 for 20 cycles now. Very frustrating, but I'm working on a new positive attitude. After a great session with my acupuncturist, I am (in her words) going to "open myself up to positive events." I feel like I have been in a very dark place thinking that I will never get pregnant again. Now I'm trying to change that attitude and start to visualize myself pregnant, visualize holding another baby, trying to be more receptive to the idea of looking past the month to month struggles to see the bigger picture. (It's not easy! Especially with pregnancy announcements everywhere).

Okay, I think I have too many weird quirks to share. Probably the biggest one is I am pretty OCD with germs... I mean it's bad. I wash my hands literally EVERY time I need to pick something up to eat, and I won't touch anything in between. Anything "community" (like buffets or plastic utensil dispensers etc), I'll either avoid or provide my own. I've gotten a lot better since having a little one. Probably the worst thing was when my mom was watching her and I got a photo text of her digging her arm, up to the shoulder, in the toilet. (clean at least haha). Or checking on her in her stroller and seeing her SHOE in her mouth. Shudder.

I blame it on being a teacher. I've seen it ALL. Teachers are the WORST. Gross.

    Don't blacklist me, okay? :)

Huge germ freak here because I get sick at the drop of the hat. Seriously if someone has the flu in the next state over I'll catch it!

It bugs me to death because if my son is sick I KEEP HIM HOME out of COURTESY to other people and Nobody on my husbands side of the family does the same! agh!

I watch too many crime shows too! I don't remember, but I know the under the car thing, it was a movie where they uhhhh.. slit you on the ankle and when you fall over they get ya.  I think I saw an x-files like that once too.

YES! Last year, it was Barforama 2012 in my classroom! One kid got sick in class, and seriously for 2 months we were dealing with this outbreak. Because parents would take their barfy kid home, fever and all, and then send them back THE NEXT DAY! I would just turn that kid right around and send them to the nurse. Somehow I managed not to get it, but then midway through the year I came down with the flu for the first time in 13 years. It kicked my ass, seriously. AND I got sick the night before DD's birthday. I ended up in the ER because I felt so miserable and it took me literally 2 weeks to feel normal again. If death had a feeling, that would have been it.

Okay I have another quirk....I always have to pull the sheets back when I get into bed to check for spiders. I heard somewhere that we swallow 2 spiders on average every year in our sleep. The thought of a spider crawling across my face REALLY freaks me out.

@freakyfast, did you happen to watch American Horror Story? Normally I wouldn't watch it, but DH was obsessed with it and we only had one TV at the time, so I sat there on my computer while he watched. Anyways, it was the episode with the actor who plays Cam from Modern Family. He had this fear of people hiding behind the shower curtain, and, long story short, someone pops out from behind the shower curtain and kills him. It was the freakiest s* ever, so I do the same thing now!!
That and the fact that I'm afraid I'll be embarrassed by someone hearing me pee. Last weekend, my nieces were playing hide and go seek at my mom's house. My niece hid in the cabinets underneath the bathroom sink. DH had no idea, so he went in to pee, and had no idea my niece was in there. HAHA! We laughed so hard. She said she covered her ears and closed her eyes and counted to 30.

  • Hi everyone. I apologize in advance that everything is one paragraph. I have one DD born in 2011. We have been trying for #2 since August of 2012. We have had three losses in between then. I currently have my d&c scheduled for the 16th, and we are waiting on results for RPL testing as well as an appt with an RE. As for my weird habit...this is going to gross you germaphobes out so skip this part if you want- every time I change DD's diaper I have to check her nose for boogies. If I know they are in there and I don't get them out it drives me nuts! Sorry, that's super gross....

  • I have hypothyroid and prolactin issues, and DD was born in June 2011 after our first IUI following 3 failed Clomid + TI cycles. I've been TTC#2 since May 2012, had a m/c after my first IUI, plus 2 more IUI's which were BFN. We met with our RE on Tuesday and I will be having a hysteroscopy next cycle to check for scar tissue from my D&C, then we need to decide if we will do another IUI (this time with injectibles), or go right to IVF. We are extremely lucky to have excellent insurance, so cost is not an issue for us.

As for my weird habit, I think I can relate to every single one mentioned already, including the boogers! I hadn't thought of rolling down my windows when going over a bridge, but I will now!! My weird habit is that I can't step so close to my bed that my feet/toes are underneath, or monsters will grab me....obviously.

Oh yeah! Yes I do watch American Horror Story. (I love horror too) I forgot about that! I remember getting anxiety watching it freaking out about it. I think at some point in my childhood someone hid in the shower and jumped out. I can't believe I still look in the shower.  Now if there are cabinets I am going to have to check those too! My in-laws, in their basement bathroom, where we stay, they have a huge walk in closet in the bathroom... Darn right I open that every time along with the shower.

Hmm. That is weird! Don't worry! No judging here :) when I was pregnant I would eat grilled cheese and dip it in ketchup.
Oh! I also love Pizza and ranch!
    Or Doritos and ketchup.
Parmesean cheese on my ramen noodles.

    Okay, I'm hungry now!

My Husband thinks I am weird. But he likes everything plain. No ketchup, ranch, onions, mustard, peppers, mayo, etc. for him. I think he is the weird one!!
No hot dog on a stick eatery here (that I know of) I'm in KY, so we don't have much of anything. It was a big deal when we got Starbucks Lol.

My husband and I had to drive a little over an hour away just to eat at the Cheesecake Factory lol.

  • History: We are on 3 full years of TTC our second, with regular cycles. Unexplained 2IF. HSG clear, lap showed very mild endo. Since it took 2 cycles to get DS, who is now four, we are stumped. DS has autism so we won't do any assisted reproduction because of our chances of having another kid on the spectrum. I started gluten-free a month ago due to a family history of celiac. I feel great and am hoping that maybe I will get pregnant as an added bonus.

QOTW: Weird habits? Well, they're all normal to me, haha, but let me think... I like to have things even and balanced- ice cube trays, egg cartons, drawers, etc. Oh! And when I close up the office, I have to say out loud as I lock the door, "Yes, Annibes, you locked the door," so I don't have to go back and check after I get to my car.

Oh man, food weird habits count? Ok I have lots of those. Cool ranch Doritos in sour cream, salt and pepper potato chips dipped in cottage cheese, lunch meat wrapped around string cheese sticks, and microwaved m&ms. You're going to have to trust me on the heaven that is microwaved m&ms. You'll never go back to regular again.

Okay, to your melted m&m's... I will only eat m&m's if they've been in the freezer... Or fridge is okay to. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I've learned that keeps him from dipping into my stash!

I think it's a CA thing. It was started as a stand in Long Beach years and years ago, but they are pretty much at every mall here in SoCal. Oh my gosh an hour to cheesecake factory?!

    I'm super hungry now!!
Well were driving up there for another reason too. But we specifically ate at the Cheesecake Factory because we don't have one here.

Our sources of entertainment are a mall, movie theater, the public library, and the river. LOL.

    ETA/edited for typo

How long do you microwave your m&ms for ?
Haha sorry for the delay: start with 30 seconds, try one, and go for another 15 seconds at a time until you can't bear to part with the bowl for another 15 seconds. :) it usually takes about a minute.

I need the melty goodness of hot m&ms, but there is a special place in my heart for frozen snickers. DH loves Reese's cups in the fridge, but I think the peanut butter gets gritty.
