Anyone on it? My OB put me on it today to help stop contractions/relax my uterus. She also put me on bed rest for the next week.

I ask because I think I'm having an adverse reaction to it. My heart rate is really fast and I'm freaking out. Hard to explain, but the antianxiety medication is giving me anxiety.

Freaking out may be a bad way to put it, but I will not be taking more of it as it is not doing it's job of stopping contractions.

Does this warrent a call to the on call dr or is it ok to just stop taking and call my dr tomorrow?

Understandable. I guess I hadn't thought of it like that. She told me I didn't have to take one every 6 hours, just as needed, so in my mind I figured it could wait until morning.

I don't know what else it would be. I'm not on any other meds, don't usually take them. Took the meds, took a nap, and woke up like this. I'm miserable.

Good point. I can tell they aren't as painful, but I figured if I was going to be on something they would stop. But if I'm continuing to have them, as well as feel like this, I don't think I should keep taking it.

Thats the thing, i took it and I passed out. Woke up like this. On my package it says fast heart rate is a symptom to call the dr about. Typing that out I feel stupid, but I thought it would have stopped by now.

Just called. Due to take one at 8, but dr told me today that I didn't have to take them every 6 hours, just as needed as my ute seemed to need it. I should hear back from on call soon.

No loopy, I would love that over what I am feeling right now. I'm extremely irritable, fast heart rate, just not feeling like myself.

I was given a few doses since I have been in the hospital for the past week and they told me to tell them if I was feeling any headaches, nausea, dizzy spells, racing heart etc. Every body is different but as others have said it could be due to you taking a new medication and possibly having some anxiety about it.

I lurve you ladies. You rock. I know about not stopping meds cold turkey, but assumed since this was an ass needed thing it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Just got off the phone with the dr. She said I was fine to stop taking it because the meds are more for my comfort than to stop preterm labor. Told me if I continued to have contractions like I am right now to go in.

This most definitly is not anxiety from taking new meds. I was excited as weird as that sounds because I was hoping it would stop the horrible back labor and contractions I had been having.

I think the anxiety is from the racing heart.

Hopefully there's something else they can give you that doesn't make you feel like you were feeling. I absolutely hate feeling the way you were describing!

Thanks. I honestly thought I was going to lose my mind. I shall be calling my OB in the morning for sure.
