Wireless Router in Nursery - maybe stupid question

I was watching an episode of Rosie Pope and she was working with an eco-friendly mom... a specialist entered the house and mentioned that it wasn't safe to have a wireless router in the nursery due to small amounts of radiation that it emits. Our wireless router is in the nursery (a few feet from the crib) as it's the only place that we can connect it to in the condo and the room used to be the guest room/office. We can't move the crib as the other walls in the room are occupied by the window, wall-to-wall closet and the door. Now i'm wondering if this actually isn't safe and I should have someone come look at other options? AT&T is coming today to install a wireless cable box in the nursery (for late nights of breastfeeding).

This might be a totally stupid question but I figure better safe than sorry...

Princeton just released a position statement about wifi radiation concerns about a week ago. The conclusion states, "It is the general consensus of the scientific community that the level of RF exposure due to wireless networks is so low compared to the many other RF sources in the modern environment that health concerns from WiFi exposure are not an issue. The results of the survey of Firestone Library support the data and conclusions from other WiFi surveys. We can reasonably say that the wireless networks present at Princeton University do not present a hazard to persons working or otherwise spending time in University buildings."

  • This might be a dumb comment since I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to technology, but... if WiFi radiation was such an issue, wouldn't WiFi monitors not be as popular as they are?

  • They're probably about as dangerous as microwave ovens (meaning, not really).
